Blue Circular Economy to Present at the Launch of Clean Coast Ltd

Siv Marina Flø Grimstad, project coordinator of Blue Circular Economy (BCE) will present at the launch of Clean Coast Lmtd’s project, a floating environmental station, that is being hosted by the Bellona Foundation on Thursday 11 April 2019 in Oslo.

Clean Coast Lmtd, an organisation founded by the siblings Elisabeth and Roger Haugen aims to clean the coast in a professional and efficient way, as a supplement to the work of volunteers. Clean Coast Lmtd will use a supply vessel to collect, handle, sort and store the discarded and lost fishing gear collected from the ocean and deliver it ashore for recycling. They will also map the plastic pollution along the Norwegian coast line and carry out research on board the vessel. In addition, they plan to contribute to and monitor the beach cleaning at Svalbard and in the Arctic areas in the summer.

Siv Marina will present how the BCE-project through partners in Ireland, UK, Denmark/Greenland and Norway, will promote and support companies to create sustainable industries in the recovery and recycling of used fishing nets into commercial products.

The Bellona Foundation is an independent non-profit organisation that aims to meet and fight the climate challenges, by identifying and implementing sustainable environmental solutions. They work towards reaching a greater ecological understanding, protection of nature, the environment and health. Bellona is engaged in a broad range of current national and international environmental questions and issues around the world.
